NAFPT meets foreign tourists stranded in Sri Lanka

National Association for Professionals in Tourism (NAFPT) along with Tourist Police Division of Sri Lanka has launched a campaign for foreign tourists who are currently stranded in Sri Lanka due to the COVID-19 Pandemic under the guidance of Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority.

The programme is called “Tourism Disaster Monitoring and Hosting Programme” where a team will travel across the country for the next 4 days covering Colombo, Katunayake, Negombo, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Ella, Pasikuda, Arugambay, Udawalawe, Mirissa, Unawatuna, Hikkaduwa and Bentota.

“While Government’s main focus is to safeguard the citizens of Sri Lanka, it is also important to take care of the tourists who have travelled to Sri Lanka trusting us.

Therefore, we are proud to start this campaign for them” Donald Rajapaksha, National Coordinator of the Association said.

The activities include visiting them, providing them with dry ration gift package, familiarizing the current situation and identifying the difficulties they are currently facing and providing assistance.
