SriLankan Airlines has been recognized as one of the world’s leading airlines in the recent Conde Nast Traveller ‘Readers’ Travel awards’.
Condé Nast Traveller is a luxury and lifestyle travel magazine published by Condé Nast – a global mass media company founded in 1909 by Condé Montrose Nast, and owned by Advance Publications. Its headquarters are located at One World Trade Centre in New York. The magazine has won 25 National Magazine Awards.
The airline has been awarded the sixth place in the survey among Best International Airlines with readers commending the airline’s comfy business class seats, attentive cabin crew and flavourful in-flight meals.
The factors considered in selecting winners under this category have been the health and safety measures taken up by the airlines to adopt to the new normal of travel and the marketing initiatives carried out by the airlines to gain top of mind awareness during the present scenario, etc. The Condé Nast Traveller Readers’ Choice Awards survey was carried out through a secure website and this year’s tabulation of results were from hundreds of thousands of respondents who submitted ratings during the period of April 01st through June 30th, 2020.

The Magazine commented, “it’s a top choice for travellers headed not only to the island nation it calls home, but to destinations in the region like the Maldives, where it’s the largest foreign airline with a fleet of 26 planes, it’s not huge, but more passengers are discovering it, thanks to its membership in the oneworld alliance”.
