MIDAS SAFETY appoints Shirendra Lawrence to its group board

hirendra Lawrence has been appointed as an independent Non-Executive Director on Midas Safety’s Group Advisory Board with effect from June 2020.

Founded 41 years ago, and Head-quartered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Midas Safety is the World’s largest private label manufacturer and supplier of Gloves to over 50 countries across the globe. Over the years, the organization has invested heavily in research and innovation to pioneer technological break-throughs in safety and industrial hand-protection. Midas Safety is present in 13 countries with over 11,000 employees and an annual turnover in excess of US $300 Million. Its product portfolio includes 16,000 unique products.

Midas has 13 state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities, located in Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and India with investments in modern and efficient manufacturing plants, robotics and hybrid glove capabilities. The facilities adhere to stringent quality and process standards.
Shirendra, who subsequent to his Mechanical Engineering degree at imperial College, University of London, completed his professional qualifications as a Chartered Engineer, is currently Group Chief Operating Officer at MAS Holdings, Sri Lanka’s largest conglomerate. In Sri Lanka, Midas Safety employs 3,000 associates at their three manufacturing plants, Industrial Clothings (Pvt) Ltd (Katunayake EPZ), Workwear Lanka (Pvt) Ltd (Biyagama EPZ) and Prime Polymers Division in Seethawaka EPZ. These factories play a key role in the glove manufacturing industry in the country, with significant exports to markets around the world.
